Memorable Christmas 2011
We spent the morning of our Christmas Eve with the families and kids at Ulingan Village in Tondo, Manila. I will have to make a separate post about that as I also want to share the beautiful pictures that hubby took that day.
This post is all about Lola.
My good friend Peachy introduced me to Lola. She donated walker to lola after learning from Ma’am Melissa, one of the founders of Project PEARLS, that lola needs a walker as she is just using a make shift walker from branch of trees to go around Ulingan. Lola is already 82 years, just a few years younger than my lola. Peachy heed Ma’am Melissa call and she purchased a walker at Bambang as her Christmas gift for her.
When she delivered her gift to lola, lola told Peachy her wish and her wish is very simple: she just wanted to drink hot coffee every morning which is impossible since she does not have a thermos at their humble house.
So I went to Robinson’s Place last December 23 to go shopping for a thermos for Lola to grant her simple wish. Then I went to Puregold to buy some coffee packs for Lola.
It was a very humbling experience when we delivered our gift to Lola. She cried as soon as she saw our gift and she kept on thanking God.
I am glad that I was able to make her happy. Thank you Peachy, for making our Christmas memorable.
