Breakfast in Bed

This is what B and I had for breakfast:

I know I should have prepared a healthier meal for us but since B and I are all alone in the house because I have no nanny for more than a month now and hubby is away, I have no choice but to order food for delivery.

Yesterday we ordered pancakes, hash brown and fries from McDonalds. And thank goodness because I am subscribed to Citi Mobile so I don’t even need cash to pay for my orders. All I need to do is just text Citi Mobile and everything will be charge to my credit card. What a great convenience right?

Hubby will still be away this coming weekend and I am not sure if I will be lucky to get a nanny within the week so I am already expecting that it will be the same setup for me and B next weekend.

Appreciated

We were called for a meeting Thursday morning by one of the section heads and we were handed this:

Pardon the pictures as I just used my Iphone to take the picture so you might need to wear discount prescription glasses before you can read the text. LOL. But the text just says:

“Many sincere thanks for your great work and a job well done.”

I have been working late these past two Fridays because I am helping with a project spear headed by another section. I get paid to work overtime (and I am really happy because I earned the amount that I need to enroll B to her swimming lessons with Aqualogic) but it is still nice to receive this kinds of cards because this only means that my efforts have been recognized and appreciated. At least it will give me inspiration to continue to work harder and continue to think of innovative ways to improve our service and make our clients happy.

Talisman in the works? LOL.

Renewal Notice

I received this in my mail today:

Gosh I did not realize that it has been a year already since we purchased our car. This means that it is time to renew our car insurance already. We got our car insurance for free as they are having a promo that time when we bought our car so I was really surprised at how expensive it can get.

But our agent told us that in-house car insurance is really expensive that is why she suggested that we get insurance quote from outside insurance companies which is a lot cheaper.

Since hubby is away and won’t be back until after holy week, I have to deal with this myself as our insurance will be expiring end of April and if we don’t submit our insurance coverage from other companies, our bank where we got the car loan, will automatically bill us the in-house insurance rates. At least I still have more than a month to check and look for the cheapest car insurance for us.

The Reddish Gift From Dad

It is here. The red Radio Flyer wagon that hubby has been waiting for weeks now has finally arrived.

IMG_0023
He said that he ordered it for B but I know that it is one of his dream toys when he was a kid so I know how excited he is that he as able to buy one for his kids. Hubby is away but he was so excited for B to see what he ordered for her and so he asked one of his office mates to meet us after office today so we can get the big package. It is a perfect timing since we always passed by that area anyways on our way home and since my dad brought a bigger car to fetch me today.

B is already aware that this red wagon is coming soon because hubby show a picture of it to B and so when B saw the box, she jumped excitedly and kept on saying “Oh, I love it, I love it, I love it.” She even kept on thanking the colleague of her dad who handed us the package.

We went online as soon as we arrived home and B can’t stop thanking and kissing her dad. We still haven’t taken it out of the box yet as it is too heavy for me to carry but I told B that she can open it with her lolo tomorrow. I am sure she can’t wait to put all her toys in that wagon and bring it with her as she play outside. Good luck to the lolo and lola who will pull the red wagon filled with B’s toys. LOL.

Renovation Project

My friend in Los Angeles is very busy these past few weeks that I rarely catch her online. They are doing a lot of overtime work now in their office as they are currently renovating their office space and she is the team lead for this renovation project.

They are almost done with the renovation and all that is left to do is to get window tinting los angeles for the application of window films. This is one of the major priorities for this project as window film los angeles can help reduce electricity cost for the company as it keeps the room cool no matter how hot the weather outside is. which can give the company a big savings in the long run. Their technology is also built for security as it prevents the shattering of glass if there is a heavy explosion cause by earthquakes, accidents or even terrorist attacks.

My friend said that their project will be finish in just a few weeks and after that we can go partying again.

Remodeling

A friend of mine migrated to Virginia a few years ago and I am happy because after only less than two years, they have completely adjusted to their new life in Virginia. In fact they are already in the process of acquiring their first investment, which is their own house and lot.

There are a lot of big houses within the area that they are eyeing but it is still way beyond their budget but they found a home with a floor area that is just right for the size of their family and with just a few remodeling, it will be one of the most stunning houses in that block.

My friend is an interior decorator and she though that replacement windows Fairfax VA will definitely do the trick in improving the looks of the house that they are planning to buy. All they have to do is get windows Fairfax VA and hire them to change the old windows into a vinyl type window and voila, it will create a big effect in the looks of the house. My friend showed me a picture of how she envisioned their house with the new vinyl windows and I must say that it really looks great.

I am so happy that things are turning out well for my friend and I am sure that this house that they are planning to buy will turn out to be one of the beautiful houses in that block after my friend use her magic touch to renovate it.

Don Henrico’s Chicken ala Buffalo

I had rice with chicken buffalo wings for lunch today from Past Works but I was a bit disappointed as it was nothing compared to the Buffalo Wings that hubby and I always eat at Don Henrico’s.

Hubby and I are never adventurous when it comes to food. If we try one restaurant and we like their menu, then we will definitely be avid customers of this restaurant and Don Henrico’s is one of the few favorite restaurants where hubby and I usually eat. And every time we dine in at Don Hen, we always, always order their Chicken Ala Buffalo and their Caribbean Salad. If B is with us, we also order their Carbonara pasta because it is B’s favorite.

Their Buffalo wings are huge that one piece is enough for me already. I also love the sauce that goes with it that I smother my huge buffalo wings with it.

After my disappointed with the buffalo wings that I had for lunch today, I am now craving for Don Hen’s chicken ala buffalo…..

Online Tax Filing

I was chatting with my friend from Los Angeles last night and she was complaining since she still hasn’t started working on filing her income tax. She really has a busy schedule since she juggled with two jobs to make both ends meet plus the fact that she is also a busy mom to her two year old daughter. So sitting for number of hours just to accomplish her income tax is really a burden for her.

I heard from another friend how she file taxes online and so I gave the link of e-smart to my friend so she can try this online method of filing her tax and she was really relieved as this service will really save her a lot of her time.

E-smart even offers a free service where they provide all the forms needed and instructions on how to file income tax making tax filing a breeze. My friend can even access their online technical support for any questions that my friend might have. She can even try their deluxe package for just $9.95 and e-smart will check all her information for further tax reductions.

My friend was really thankful because at least now she won’t have any problems in filing her income tax.

A Phase

I know I shouldn’t be complaining about this but I guess there comes a point in one’s career where you sometimes feel bored already. My prayers always include a prayer about my job as I don’t want to loose my job in the current company that I am working on. Who can complain if I have the following benefits:

• We receive good pay and the salary that our employer is giving us is even higher compared to other local companies here. We even have a mid-year bonus and Christmas bonus. And if my boss is satisfied with my performance, then I get to have a performance increase aside from the across the board increase that we are getting every year.
• We have a short work week of 37.5 hours per week as we only go to work from 8 to 4:30 from Monday to Thursday and 8 to 1:30 on Friday. This is really family friendly especially for a mom like me with kids.
• We have good medical and health benefits that even pregnancy expenses are covered and the benefits even extends to my family.
• We have opportunity for travel as we sometimes get to attend trainings and conferences abroad.
• We don’t even have those boring office uniforms so I get to wear my dresses which I enjoy shopping from Republic, by the way.
• I have great boss and great colleagues.

My only complain is that I feel that my work has been a routine already that I feel stagnant and I have no career growth. I guess you will really feel this way if you have been doing this for the past ten years now. LOL. But like what hubby suggested, I started taking trainings, reading IT related books and I even started taking Microsoft certifications to update my knowledge and skills.

But I am sure this is just a phase and I am sure there is now way I will look for another employer. LOL.

White Berry: Frozen Yogurt

I have been having this for dessert almost everyday fro two weeks now ever since I discovered it.

A colleague mentioned that I should try the frozen yogurt of White Berry (one of the newly opened restaurants in our building) as it is so yummy and delicious. And ever since I first tasted it, I got hooked. I never really like yogurts and I saw some yogurt stands at the malls but I dare not try it as I thought that I will not like it but I never thought I will love yogurt this way. LOL. I even sometimes have it for my afternoon snacks too. LOL.

But at least this is a healthy alternative for desserts, right? My OB asked me to have a glucose test done to check my sugar level. I haven’t seen the results yet as I haven’t visited my OB again but I better scrimped down on my sugar intake just to be sure.

Yeyel’s 18 Birthday & Some Realizations

As I posted on my previous entries here, we attended the 18th birthday party of the daughter of our good friend Annie and Emil. It was held at Centerstage in Makati. It was just a simple party where only the close friends of the debutante and the family are invited.

The birthday girl did not want to have a party to celebrate her 18th birthday but her parents (particularly her mother) insisted since turning 18 is a big milestone in every girl’s life so her mother doesn’t want her daughter to miss this experience. (I am a mother too and I think I will feel this way too for my daughter).

The birthday girl agreed to have a party but the condition is that it will be a charitable event where guests are asked to make a donation for the kids living in Payatas instead of bringing in gifts for the celebrant. They raised P21,050 that night which was received by the social worker representing the kids of Payatas that night.

Though it was just a simple and informal event, they still have the traditional 18 symbolic candles and 18 roses. My favorite part was when the father had her dance with her now teenager. The father even gave a speech and he said that he can’t believe that time flies so fast.

IMG_0012IMG_0007
It was a touching moment for me, being a mom to a now four year old girl. This made me realized that time really moves fast and before we knew it, our toddler will soon be a teenager already. Before, I only plan to have two kids at most. But after last night, it made me think twice about my plan and now it seems that I want more kids (and we better act fast before hubby needs to take levitra because hubby and I are not getting any younger).

Yeyel, the birthday celebrant, has grown up to be a smart, beautiful, responsible, God-fearing individual. I am sure that her parents and the rest of her family are all proud of what she has accomplished. My friends, her parents, really did a good job in raising her well. We hope that we can do the same to our kids. Happy Birthday again Yeyel from all of us.

Wise Decision

I used to have 1000/1000 vision that without my contact lens I am really blind. A lot of my colleagues have tried lasik surgery Mexico and they really recommend it to be safe as they have in their team experience Ophthalmologist Surgeon who oversees the overall procedure for each patient.

So a year ago, I took the big leap and finally found the courage to have a lasik surgery done and I must say that it is one of the best decisions that I have done so far. What lasik patients are saying is really true, that it is the most liberating feeling. Imagine, every time I wake up in the morning, I have clear vision and I get to enjoy that thaings I don’t usually enjoy before because of my poor eye sight like sports, going to beach and the like.

Now I have a 20/20 vision and I am one of the lasik patients now who can truly attest that the procedure is really safe and very precise and reliable. It has been a year after I have undergone a lasik surgery and I did not experience any problems at all after the surgery. Indeed, I will really recommend it for those who have poor eyesight like me. I assure you that it is one decision that you will never really regret.

Dinner @ Dampa

One of the activities that our family loves to do, aside from videoke (LOL), is eating. Last Sunday, we all head to Dampa for a family get together and to celebrate a special occasion (though I am not sure yet if I can already disclose what that special occasion is).

One of our family’s favorite places to eat is Dampa in Macapagal where we can enjoy their seafood dishes. We used to eat at Trinity Restaurant but since it is a special occasion (and we need a small function room for this), they decided to try out a new restaurant, Hong Kong Restaurant, and these are the food that we tried from their menu:

We even have baked mussels but it was served late so we did not get t have a picture of it as our hands were all dirty already because we have been using it to eat. Their crab dish is delicious but still, nothing beats the buttered shrimp of Trinity. LOL. We also didn’t like the fact that they don’t allow their staff to do the marketing for us and so when we ran out of Baked Mussels and we wanted to order more, one of us has to go to the market to buy the additional ingredients.

But it was still a good night. What else can beat great food and family, right?

Advance HBD Mom

Meet B’s greatest lola, my mom.

March 2010 156
In just a few days, she will be celebrating her birthday. Can you guess how old she is? She is much fashionable than me when it comes to dressing up and she never goes out of the house without her make up on. How I wish I would be like her when I am her age and I won’t need anti aging wrinkle creams. (I better ask for her secret as early as now).

We still have no plans on how to celebrate her birthday. Hubby will also be arriving from Micronesia that day so we might just go eat out in Dampa after fetching hubby at the airport.

But as early as now, I want to greet my mom a very Happy, Happy birthday. We like to thank her for being the greatest mother to us and for raising us well and now, hubby and I would like to thank her for taking care of our dear daughter. Don’t worry mom, in just a few months you have more grand children to come so more adventures for you.

Yeyel @ 18

B’s Ate Yeyel will be celebrating her 18th birthday tomorrow. The party will be at the Sala Room, Center Stage Resto bar at Jupiter Place Building in Makati and B will be the flower girl for 18 roses and I am really excited.

Look at her invitation.

Isn’t she such a pretty girl? How I wish there was a home remedy for acne when I was her age so I am as stunning as her when I had my 18th birthday party. LOL.

Yeyel actually doesn’t want to have a party for her 18th birthday but her mom, my friend, insisted since she knows that turning 18 is an important stage in a girl’s life. But the only reason Yeyel agreed to have a party is because her mother decided to turn her party into a charitable event.

This is the message in her invitation:

I am ready to step into womanhood,
to honor my God and my family…

Help me start this milestone in fulfilling my true purpose in life…

I am blessed with all the material things in life,
There is nothing I desire. Thus, I only wish to “give back the gifts” that you will bring me on this special day by sending the children of Sto. Nino, Payatas, Quezon City to school with full stomach or sponsor an orphan to YWAM training program.

Please buy your gift vouchers from the social workers stationed at the registration area of party venue. It will only cost you:

Fifty pesos a meal per children / day and three hundred pesos for a training assistance; sending an orphan to ministerial program.

I am really so proud of my friend for raising such good kids who are not only beautiful but also God-fearing, responsible and smart kids.

My First

This is my first attempt in being (or should I say pretending to be) a photographer.

HHL_5179
Hubby knows I wanted to buy my own camera and so one day, he went home with my Canon 20D. He is actually more excited than me and he started to give me a crash course already on how I can use my digital SLR.

And so when we had a short vacation last weekend, he brought his camera and my camera and he told me to start practicing with my new camera and the picture above is my first shot using my new toy.

Out of the dozen pictures that I took, this is actually the best (LOL) as most of the shots are still out of focus. I guess I still need a few more lecture from hubby on how I can better use my SLR. LOL. We are actually planning to enroll in a photography class though I don’t know when it will materialize because we really have a very busy schedule. So for now, I guess I just have to learn first hand from the best photographer in town, who else but my husband.

Fight Big C

On my way to the office, I saw a signboard which says “We will help you prevent Cancer.” This got me into thinking, can we really prevent cancer?

I had a discussion before with a colleague and he believed that more and more people nowadays are having cancer because of our present lifestyle – the food that we eat, the pollution, our busy schedule, our bad habits like smoking and drinking. He said that all of this contributed to cancer.

So he believed that if we only change our lifestyle, then there is a better chance of not catching the big C. I guess I believe him because hubby and I really started to change our lifestyle and we vowed that we will really start living a healthy life. We actually started reading about colon cleanse products and are reading the reviews from Colon Cleansers’ site as we actually believe that this supplements can really help make us strong and can really help prevent cancer. We also started changing our diet and we see to it that we only eat healthy and nutritious foods at home.

I have two relatives already who had cancer and I can’t help but feel paranoid about the Big C. That is why we are really doing everything that we can to help prevent any one of our family member in having cancer.

Problems with Algebra?

If you will ask a group of students what is their most despise subject, I guess a lot will say that it is Algebra. I was a student once and I know how difficult Algebra is and so now that my cousin is already in K-12, I can really understand why he is having a hard time with his Algebra 1.

I remember when I was still a student, my mom got me a tutor to help me with Algebra and so I suggested that he got a tutor too. Only this time, there are better alternatives since there are already Online Algebra Tutor program that my cousin can enroll to.

The best thing about this is that my cousin can access sample Algebra 1 problems 24x7, any time he wants and any where he is and he can even access an online tutor to assist and guide him in solving the different Algebra problems. He can also get free Algebra 1 answers which can really help enhance his Algebra skills.

Being a student is really stressful. I know because I once was a student so I believe that getting an online tutor will really be a big help for my cousin get good grades in Algebra.

My Midnight Snack

Last Friday, hubby has to go to Pan Pacific to pick up the tickets for the Pacquiao – Clottey fight. I tried reserving the tickets and just pay for it when we check in on Saturday but they have a strict policy that tickets for the said event are on a book and buy basis. And they only have fifty tickets left when we called Friday night and so even if it is already 9 PM, hubby has to drive from our house to Pan Pacific to purchase our tickets (that is how much he wants to watch the fight live).

I was blogging while waiting for him and since he knows that I will be staying up late because I want to finish all my to-do before our busy weekend, hubby went home with these goodies for me for my midnight snack:

Duce de Leche cheesecake and Fresh Berry juice. (I completely forgot to take a picture of it and hubby was even the one who reminded me after he saw me grabbing my first bite of the cheesecake. LOL.) I finished the cheesecake and the juice in less than 10 minutes, I think, and I was really recharge that I was able to finish all that I need to finish.

Thank you dad for the pasalubong (oh the perks of being pregnant. LOL).

On Loosing Weight

I am now on my 25th weeks of pregnancy. I just had my check up yesterday and I am now 132 pounds (which means I already gained 22 pounds since I became pregnant). I checked my record book and every month, I am gaining three to four pounds consistently which means I will be around 140 pounds or more when I am already on my full term.

I remember when I had my first child, I have to loose 20 pounds after giving birth before I can go back to my pre-pregnancy weight and it took me more than six months to shed all those excess weight. My friend recommends that I should try fat burner this time as it helped her go back to her pre-pregnancy weight after she gave birth.

I will give birth either last week of June or first week of July and I will be attending the wedding of my good friend come December so I will really need all the help that I can get to loose all those excess fat. LOL. So wish me luck.

Fulfilling My Dream

If you will ask me what is one of my biggest frustrations, then it will be obtaining a Master’s degree. I enrolled for Master’s program a couple of years ago but then I was not able to finish it because I started preparing for our dream wedding. Now that I am pregnant with my second child, I am fully aware at how demanding parenting is and especially since I have a full time job too so I am thinking now if there would still be a chance for me to finish my Master’s degree.

And that is when I learned about online universities particularly, Western Governors Online University. A friend is currently enrolled there and she is really encouraging me to enroll too since she is like a mother too like me who have a full time job and yet she can manage to enroll in WGU’s masters program.

What is nice about WGU’s online degree is that the curriculums are developed by employers who know what skills and knowledge are required in the industry. And since it is an online course, I can study at my own time and pace even if I have a very busy schedule. They even offer a lot of Master’s and Bachelor’s program in teaching, Business, Information Technology and even Health Professions.

So who says that finishing my master’s degree won’t be possible even if I am a very busy mom? With WGU’s online degree programs, I know in no time, I will be able to fulfill my dream and obtain my Master’s degree.

Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey: the Big Event

Last Sunday was the much awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey. Hubby never miss any of Pacquiao’s fight and he always wants to watch it live (as you know how delayed the results are if you will watch it with commercial breaks). But since it will be B’s Moving Up Day also last Sunday at 2:30 PM, hubby had a problem on how he can make it on time for B’s Moving Up Day since the fight won’t be finish until around 1 PM.

So his solution, we checked in at Pan Pacific hotel from Saturday to Sunday morning since they have a Pacquiao-Clottey event to be held at Pacific Grand Ballroom. And since Pan Pacific is just a couple of blocks away from the venue of B’s Moving up Day, we won’t be late for the celebration even if we leave Pan Pacific at 2:00 Pm which gives hubby plenty of time to enjoy and finish the fight.

This is the first time that I watched the fight live and I never thought it was fun. Imagine watching it will all the Filipinos (and there were even some foreigners) cheering for Manny. Even B was cheering too and is wishing for Manny to win.

I did not get to finish the fight though as B got bored already in the middle of the fight as we have been waiting for more than three hours already (we went in the Ballroom at 10 AM as we thought the under card matches will be finish by then but the Manny vs. Clottey fight did not start until past 1 PM already). So I have to go out with B as she can’t wait to take a dip at the pool.

Hubby was kind of disappointed with the match even though Manny wins since he feel that Clottey did not give his all and he is expecting for a more action packed fight since Clottey is much bigger than Pacquiao but it looks like Manny did not even have a hard time fighting him.

Now everybody is waiting for Manny’s next big fight. Will it be with Mayweather?

Planning for Our Summer Outing

Last Sunday, my family had a get together dinner at Hong Kong Restaurant in Dampa, Macapagal. Since it is summer already, the topic for discussion was our summer outing. The last time we went out of town was last New Year where we spent an overnight in Tagaytay. Everybody had fun – kids and adults alike as we had parlor games, non stop videoke, food overload and horse back riding before going home.

And so this summer, they asked me again to plan for our family’s summer outing. I have a few options in mind:

1. If they just want a day tour, then we can go to our favorite resort near our house in Bulacan – Villa Concepcion Wet and Wild Waves. What we love about this resort is it is not crowded and the place is huge and they even constructed an annex for the resort where there is wave pool and I heard they even have kayaks and fishing. We also love their hotel as the place is clean and well maintained and it can pass for a five star hotel because of their classic log furniture.

2. Our second option is to book an overnight stay so the kids can really enjoy the beach and the pool. I asked my cousin who has a contact in Pueblo Por La Playa – an exclusive, members only resort, to get a quotation for an overnight stay for our family. I reviewed the quotation and their price is even much cheaper compared to the resorts in Laiya, Batangas. I also checked the amenities of the resort and they have an infinity pool, beach volleyball, kayak and snorkeling plus other sports activities like jet ski. I am sure all of us will enjoy our stay here.

I just have to make a summary so I can present it to all my relatives and hopefully, our summer outing plans will push through.

New baby is coming home

Our new baby is coming home. No, no, not our second baby (I am not due until July. LOL) but the new Canon 20D that hubby purchased is coming home soon. It is just a second hand camera that hubby bought from a colleague and he sent it to Canon last week for service maintenance. Hubby said that this camera will be mine (though I am not sure if I will be able to figure out how to use it.LOL).

He received a call from Canon the other day and it is now ready for pick up. It is really just in time since hubby will be leaving already next week. He said that it would have been perfect if we can have an Outer Banks vacation after his three-week work in Kolonia so we can travel with him and I get to try my new camera. But since I am already on my 6th month of pregnancy, I don’t think a long travel would be possible. Too bad as I am imagining already the spots that we can visit in Outer Banks and we can get to swim and enjoy the beach too while we relax at the furnished homes for rent in Outer Banks. Oh well, maybe next time. For the mean time, I will just play with my new toy and will take pictures of my pretty daughter at home.

Last Day of School Today

Today is B’s last day at MSS, her home for almost 10 months now. Their Moving Up day will be on Sunday but they are not going to school tomorrow as they will have a general rehearsal at the venue for the celebration tomorrow. So I decided to give the gifts for B’s teachers and yaya today.

I asked a friend who went to Hong Kong a few months ago to buy me Elizabeth Arden perfume, my favorite perfume, so I have something in stock at home. Since I was so busy the past few weeks, I did not find the time to go to the malls to buy gifts for B’s teachers and so I thought of giving them the perfume instead. Then we went to Becky’s Kitchen yesterday on our way home and bought a box of fudge brownies for B’s yaya at school.

B was really excited while we were wrapping the gifts last night. She said that her teachers and her yaya will surely be surprise when she hands them their gifts. She even personally wrote her name in all the gift tags that I attached to the gifts.

Hope they will like our gift. It is just our simple way of saying thank you for everything that they have done for B. B really learned a lot from them and B will surely miss them as B is moving already to another school this coming school year.

Go Satellite

My daughter is just four years old now and during this age, her brain is like a sponge and just absorbs everything that is fed to it. So we wanted to make sure that she just watches nothing but educational shows especially when we are out working and she is only left alone with her nanny.

One solution that we thought of is to subscribe to DirectTV so we will be sure that she watches only good and educational shows on TV while we are out. We looked around for the best Satellite TV Provider and that is when we discovered DirectSatTV.com. We checked out their site and they have amazing offers that is really irresistible. Imagine, for just $29.99 per month, we can get access to 150+ channels and 35 high definition channels. They even have an online promo where they give free shipping and 50% off for one year to their subscribers.

What’s good about DIRECTV is that all their channels are of digital quality so we are guaranteed for the best viewing experience. And it will not only be enjoyed by our daughter, but my husband and I will surely enjoy their service as they offer more channels which means more viewing pleasure for us.

All for the Pacquiao VS Clottey match

This coming March 13 will be the much awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey. I wish I can afford to buy tickets to watch the live match but I don’t think we have the budget for that right now.

But you know men, boxing is one of their favorite things and so my husband is really keen on finding ways on how he can watch the fight. So to finally get the solution to his problem, we decided to get DirectTV.

We have been trying to look for DirecTV in our area and a friend who is subscribed to Direct TV NY recommended MyTVOptions. And I was really in awe because they have great packages to choose from and they even have an ongoing promo now where they will give their subscribers 50% for one year. Their cheapest package is really so affordable and it already includes access to 150+ channels and 35 High definition channels. Good thing there is Direct TV FL. All we have to do is contact MyTVOptions to subscribe to their service so we can get to watch the boxing match this coming Saturday night. My husband is one happy camper now.

Tsoko Nut

Last week, I had my annual medical checkup as a requirement for my continuous employment with my present company. Part of the laboratory exam was the FBS (Fasting Blood Sugar), which required me to fast for 8-10 hours before the procedure was done.

The night before my scheduled annual checkup, I had dinner at 8 PM, ate fruits at 10 PM and just drank water at 11:30 PM. The next day, I did not have breakfast so you can just imagine how hungry I am already when I reached the office at 8 AM. I went straight to the clinic to have the FBS done and as soon as I am done with all the medical procedures needed for the medical exam, I head straight to Tsoko Nut and have this for breakfast:

Hot chocolate drink and ensaymada with quesong puti. Every time we eat lunch at Tsoko Nut, I am drooling over the yummy picture of their ensaymada and I can imagine eating it with a hot cup of their famous chocolate drink. And so when I had the chance to eat breakfast at their store, I did not think twice on what to order and I was not mistaken because the ensaymada and the chocolate drink are so delicious. I really highly recommend it.

So next time you are at Tsoko Nut, do try out their ensaymada and their signature hot chocolate drink.

From Simple to Futuristic

A few months ago, we purchased our first brand new car. We only bought the Toyota Vios because that is the car that fits our budget that time. It is just a simple car with the features that fits our needs.

We never thought that it is possible to jazz it up a bit until we saw the Toyota Vios of my friend which he accessorized with lambo doors. And so from a simple car, our friend’s Toyota Vios has been turned into one eye catching and head turning vehicle.

Our friend said that he ordered the lambo doors from CARiD. CARiD have a wide selection of lambo doors produced by Vertical Doors, Inc. What is nice about Vertical Doors, Inc’s lambo doors is that it is custom built to have a perfect fit to any car make or model.

My husband got really excited because he now discovered a way on how to turn our simple Toyota Vios to a classy and futuristic looking car.

Productive Sunday

We had a very productive day yesterday. We went to Baby Ultrasound Company to have our 4D ultrasound and it was a very memorable experience for me as a mom, since hubby and B is with me while we all watched our baby inside my tummy.

Then in front of the Baby Ultrasound Clinic was a dental clinic and we thought that it will be a perfect time to have B’s teeth cleaned also since it has been years already since her last visit to the dentist.

Unlike her first visit, B was very cooperative this time and just followed everything the dentist asked her to do and it is all because of the Samsung LCD TV mounted just in front of the dental chair. Each cubicle has their own LCD TV and so the kids’ attention will be diverted to the movie being shown on TV and it really worked for B since she was really cooperative during the entire process.

And because of this, I was able to look in awe at how wonderful this LCD TVs are. LOL. We actually need one for our bedroom and this is perfect for us since we really need a TV that can be easily mounted to the wall since we really have limited space in our room. I checked buy.com and the prices are really good and so my goal now is to convince hubby that it is time to upgrade and get one of those LCD TV for us. LOL. Wish me luck!
