Weekend Snapshot # 20 - Sunset

I just love sunset shots. Every time I checked on the entries of the Weekend Snapshot participants, my favorite would always be sunset shots. So I was really elated when I saw this sunset shot taken by my husband.

This was taken in Manila Bay one afternoon. His office is just right beside Baywalk and so when he saw how magnificent the sunset was, he did not hesitate to get out of his car to take this amazing picture. How I wish, I have hubby’s talent. I am a frustrated photographer, you see. But I think, no matter how high tech my camera is, I can never get this amazing shot. LOL.

Happy Weekend Snapshots everyone and hope all of us will have a wonderful week ahead of us.

This description is so true for me. LOL.

You Are Boyish Sexy

You're the kind of girl who gets along with all the boys

Whether it's holding your own in a game of touch football...

Or kicking some major butt while playing Xbox.

You hang with the guys easily, while still keeping your girly sexiness.

Feel free to snag this, girls.

Welcome back to Manila, Chris!

A former colleague who now resides in Ottawa, Canada is now here in Manila for a short vacation. He visited us last Tuesday at the office and he promise to be back after the weekend so we can go out and catch up on old times.

I remember when I was at Canada last October 2004; it was his first month there after migrating so he is still adjusting with his new environment. And so he was really glad that he saw a familiar face when I went there for my training. Every evening he will come visit me at my hotel and we will have dinner together at the nearby mall. We even shared our food as they have big servings and both of us are not really a big eater. He even went with us to Montreal when Rio and Madette took H and me there.

How time flies. I can’t believe that’s it’s been four years since he migrated there and now he is already a Canadian Citizen. He just got his citizenship recently and according to him, the first thing that he did after acquiring his citizenship is to apply for a Canadian passport. After he got his passport, he quickly bought a plane ticket to Manila and that’s why he is here right now.

Welcome back to Manila, Chris and hope to see you more often here.

It’s a date with Marc

I just received the most wonderful news today. This will also be good news to all Marc Nelson fans out there.

Marc will be the host of the new reality TV show on QTV entitled, The Debutante. My good friend Timmy was the one who texted me the news as she knows that I’m really one big fan of Marc Nelson.

This means I will be able to see him again every week. Ever since I watched him at Amazing Race Asia Season 2 where he played with his best friend, Rovilson, I became one big fan. Aside from his good looks, he has a great aura and personality which was really evident even though he is under a stressful situation during the race. So I am really glad that he is having a show at QTV because I miss seeing him on TV.

The Debutante will air on QTV. So it will be a date for me and Marc. I can’t wait. Just thinking about it makes me excited and happy already.

Weekend Snapshot # 17 - They are back

We were supposed to be watching a play entitled Mulan Jr. with the rest of the Toddlers Unlimited students and teachers but B started to cry as soon as the lights went out so we have no choice but to go out of the theatre. I really wanted her to watch the play as it is something that she really hasn’t experienced but her loud cry is disturbing the others who are enjoying the show so we just decided to go out and leave Greenbelt.

We didn’t want to go around the Greenbelt area so we decided to go to Robinson’s Place instead as we remembered that it is the opening of the Dinosaur Robotics Exhibit at the Midtown wing. And we are glad that we did just that as B enjoyed watching and posing with the dinosaurs. She did not even get scared and gamely strike a pose for her dad with the dinosaurs. She even wanted to play with them. LOL. I know she loves animals but I did not realize that she will also like those scary dinos.

Here are some of the dinosaurs on display.

Giraffe Nappy Cake – Finished product

Taddaa!! Presenting Nice and Debbie’s finished product for my Giraffe Nappy Cake order.
Debbie sent her finished product to me via MMS last Monday and I was really happy with their creation that I decided to add Nivea toiletries to my order. And it looks even nicer with the toiletries. And I don’t have to do anything as they wrapped it already, put it in a paper bag plus they included a personalized gift tag. That is the reason why I love giving nappy cakes as gifts:

1. It is really unique and you just can’t buy it in a department store.
2. It is personalized in a way since I get to choose the theme and the items that I want to be included in my nappy cakes.
3. Nice and Debbie makes it really hassle free as we just talk via text and yahoo messenger and they will do everything for me. They even wrap it and added a gift tag and they were able to execute whatever we have discussed online.
4. The items included in the nappy cakes will surely be useful.

Thanks again Nice& Debbie. It was really fun working with you. Sa uulitin.

Update on my Mom

She didn’t experience any heavy bleeding (which is a sign that her cervix has opened up already) last Friday. She called her OB and she was advised to wait until today.

She went back to her OB again this morning and gave her another set of medicines which will help open up her cervix. According to her OB, since she produces less estrogen because of her age, it takes time before her cervix opens up. The OB said it can take up to 10 days before it finally opens up and only until this time we will bring her to the hospital. So she might spend the weekend at home which is what we like so she can at least rest and relax during the long weekend.

Thanks again for all your prayers and all the messages you left on my blog. It really helps ease up all my fears. I’ll keep you all posted.

My Giraffe Nappy Cake – Creations by Nice & Debbie

I was so excited when I received Nice message in YM yesterday. She said that she already sent the mock up for my nappy cake order. This will be my gift for the Christening of my best friend’s son on Sunday.

I initially like their Bear Nappy Cake but according to Debbie (Nice’s business partner), the bear is out of stock already, so I settled for the giraffe nappy cake. The materials for the nappy cake are:

1 Bib
1 Green Receiving blanket
2 bottles
1 wash cloth
1 onesie
1 avent pacifier
1 Giraffe Hand puppet

Nice suggested that they add more nappies since the base of the cake is too small for the giraffe. And in order for them to be able to stick with my budget, Nice suggested that they can remove the pacified in replacement for the additional nappies. I’m still thinking if I will add Nivea toiletries for the cake.

It was really nice working with Nice and Debbie. They accommodate all my queries and they’re so easy to contact. We even had a brainstorming in YM. Plus their price is very, very affordable. They even made a mock up of the nappy cake so I can have an idea on how it will look before finalizing my order. I’m excited already for the final result of my nappy cake. I will pick it up on Friday at their office.

You can contact Nice by visiting her blog. Just leave her a message there and she will reply right away.

Please pray for my Mom

My mom went to her OB yesterday for check up because she has been spotting for days now. The OB required her to have a D&C (Dilation and Curettage) and then the tissue extracted during her D&C will be submitted for biopsy.

Just hearing the word biopsy makes me feel scared and worried for my mom. I know that when they say biopsy, it can be something related to cancer. Memories of my Tita Vicky who died from ovarian cancer kept on flashing back. I remember the ordeal our family has gone through when we found out about my aunt’s condition. I don’t want to experience the same ordeal again. I’m scared. I’m afraid.

But like Thea said, I shouldn’t invite those thoughts. I should just pray and let God do the rest.

Please pray for my mom. She will be admitted for D&C once her cervix opens which will be evident if she experience heavy bleeding and then we will wait for the biopsy results after that. Hope it’s nothing serious. The doctor said it can just be an infection and be easily cured. Or they might remove her ovaries.
